Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

This is your opportunity to develop your technical planning capability across both open pit and underground mining while helping shape the future of one of Australia’s premier gold operations.

As our Mining Engineer – Integrated Planning, you’ll work at the centre of operational decision making, developing and optimising medium-term mine plans that influence safety, production and business performance. You’ll gain exposure to mine design, scheduling, forecasting, optimisation studies and business improvement initiatives across the full mining value chain.

Working a 5:2/4:3 roster, with flexibility and hybrid arrangements available, you’ll enjoy the lifestyle benefits of regional NSW while gaining exposure to new satellite pit developments and underground ramp-ups—all within a newly rebuilt Deswik planning environment. This is a genuine career building opportunity for an engineer looking to develop technical expertise and broaden their exposure across multiple mining methods and planning horizons.

Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Senior Engineer – Mining, you’ll:

  • Develop practical mine designs and schedules that support safe, efficient and value-driven mining outcomes.
  • Influence business decisions through scenario modelling, forecasting and optimisation studies.
  • Partner with operational, geology, geotechnical and planning teams to align plans with site objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning systems, forecasting processes and operational performance.

Why Cowal Gold Operations?

At Cowal, our never-say-never attitude has led to mine life extension to 2042 as we have boldly reimagined our future. We took our operations there underground in just seven years. Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
