Northern Star Resources have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Fixed Plant Control System Technician to join our team at our world-class Kalgoorlie Operation Operations, on a 5:2 roster, 9 hours per shift.   This is a residential role.

What’s the role on offer?

As the Control System Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the Plants Control Systems are maintained and optimised to ensure Plant availability and efficiency.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Completing scheduled backups as required.
  • Ensuring software licences and system updates are current.
  • Follow document control on any changes to logic or equipment.
  • Implement or assist with any approved control system changes.
  • Complete or supervise scheduled and unscheduled works.
  • Work with Processing, Metallurgy and Maintenance teams to identify and rectify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to ensure maintenance and project activities are properly planned and scheduled so work progress on schedule in a safe, organised and cost-efficient manner.

The specifics:

  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Work with attention to detail.
  • Current WA “A’ Grade Electrical Licence (preferred) .
  • Current ‘C’ Class Western Australian Divers Licence.
  • Previous vocational experience in process plant maintenance operations is highly regarded
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Outlook)
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Pro-active, self-starter capable of working in a small team of professionals.
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
