Underground Production Engineer

Due to company growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an Underground Production Engineer to join our team  at  our Thunderbox Underground (Thunderground) Operations.

The Thunderbox Underground Feasibility Study (announced on the ASX August 2019) confirms a large, high productivity, low cost, long life mine underpinned by 11Mt Reserves (910koz). The successful candidate will gain exposure to multiple highly productive mining methods (longhole open stoping and sub-level open stoping with pastefill), as we prepare to commence production and ramp up to become one of the most productive, low cost underground gold mines.

Due to the current ongoing changes within Australia due to the COVID-19 Virus crisis response this role will be initially offered on a 2 week on, 2 week off roster. As soon as we are able to revert our operations back to their normal roster rotations, this role will follow a 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

Reporting to the Snr Mining Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Delivering safe production by design
• Daily and weekly co-ordination and scheduling of all underground mining activities including development, production and pastefill activities
• Developing and co-ordinating Daily and Weekly production schedules
• Drill and blast design, QA / QC of drill and blast activities
• Drill and blast optimization
• Initiating stope firings underground
• End of month reporting for development and production activities and compliance against schedule
• U/G Contractor supervision and co-ordination

Skills and experience:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• 12+ months underground work experience
• Experience with pastefill desirable
• Sound knowledge in underground Drill and Blast
• Competence with mining software packages, Deswik proficiency will be highly regarded
