Northern Star Resources currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geologist – Operations to join the team at our Jundee operations. This role offers a long-term and fulfilling future with our esteemed Geology team on an 8:6 roster, contributing to our ongoing journey toward sustained operational excellence.


Here is what awaits you

  • Provide leadership to ensure that all geology & diamond drill personnel adhere to safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative provisions.
  • Manage all drill data collection and validity, interpretation updates, QAQC, determining mineralisation controls and modelling the geology to develop mineral resources.
  • High level planning, including drill scheduling, and working with mine planning with development and stope designs.
  • Ensure quarterly and 6 monthly resource versus reserve reconciliation reports are completed.
  • Complete project work and presentations to a professional standard as and when required.
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

 

 

To thrive in this role, you will need


Experience:

We’re looking for a Geologist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the resources industry, ideally within underground hard rock mining environments. You will bring hands-on experience with mining and geology software such as Datamine and Leapfrog, along with a strong understanding of sampling practices, QAQC, block modelling, advanced grade estimation techniques, and reconciliation.

In addition, you will have demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to positively lead and develop a team, as well as experience managing contractors and engaging effectively with stakeholders.


Qualifications
:

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology and a C Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
