We are looking for a Senior Geologist – Resources to join our Jundee Operations.

 

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent – Operations, you will lead a team of Project and Resource Geologists, overseeing the quality and delivery of resource modelling, estimation and reporting to support mine planning and the broader business.

 

What you can look forward to:

  • Lead, develop and mentor the Resource Geology team, setting clear standards and supporting technical capability.
  • Oversee the integrity and quality of grade control and resource models prior to handover to Engineering.
  • Lead the preparation and review of data for annual and bi-annual Resource and Reserve reporting.
  • Monitor QA/QC processes, assay laboratory performance and geological data quality, driving corrective actions where required.
  • Optimise infill drilling programs and monitor drilling schedules against resource model and operational requirements.
  • Oversee geological data collection, including drill logging and face mapping standards.
  • Work closely with the Database Administrator to maintain database integrity and develop fit-for-purpose site applications.
  • Support continuous improvement of geological processes, standards and practices across the operation.

Where you’ll add value:

  • 7+ years’ experience in mining and/or exploration geology, including 3+ years in resource modelling of narrow-vein gold deposits.
  • Production geology experience, preferably across both underground and open pit environments.
  • Strong technical capability in resource modelling, geostatistics and estimation software such as Vulcan, Datamine, Leapfrog or Supervisor.
  • Proven experience in orebody interpretation, wireframing, resource modelling and estimation methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of geostatistical and classical estimation methods and reconciliation processes.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience, with strong communication, report writing and mentoring skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Geology, preferably with Honours, from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Current Western Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate desirable.
