Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine has an estimated 10+ year mine life forecast to produce ~150,000 Au ounces in FY26.

Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks production with exploration potential expected to grow the current high-grade resource.

The Bellevue Gold Mine is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines.

Bellevue Gold has the ambitious goal of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the Bellevue Gold Project by 2026. This will be underpinned by a sector-leading renewable energy power station, with a forecast 70-80% renewable energy penetration rate.

The Senior Metallurgist is responsible for providing technical leadership in the department, driving plant performance and optimisation, and ensuring accurate metallurgical reporting to enable the department to safely achieve maximum gold recovery.

This role is permanent full time and is based on site on an 8 days on 6 days off fly in fly out roster.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor key plant operating parameters, ensuring they remain within target ranges, and that any deviations are identified, investigated, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Lead all daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting and reporting requirements for the Processing Department, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with best industry practices.
  • Analyse plant performance data to ensure operations are meeting metallurgical, production, and budget expectations, providing insights and recommendations as required.
  • Identify, define, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant and metallurgical performance. This includes close collaboration with the Processing, Mining, and Geology teams.
  • Develop and contribute to short, medium, and long?term planning for the Processing Department.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to the onsite laboratory, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely assay and sample data to support plant operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the metallurgical team (plant, project, and graduate metallurgists), ensuring high standards of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across the team.
  • Contribute to our Operators’ knowledge and understanding of processing and metallurgy through coaching and open communication.
  • Lead or contribute to capital project development and implementation, including coordinating test work programs, plant trials, and technical evaluations.
  • Other duties as request by your Supervisor / Manager.

 

Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
  • Solid relevant experience
  • Completed the Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate
  • Valid WA C class drivers license
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, coach team members, and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Sound knowledge of metallurgical accounting and reporting
  • Excellent data analysis skills and a proactive approach to improving the performance of the processing facility through improvement ideas aligned with data
  • Pronto experience desirable
