The following Privacy Statement has been prepared by the Gold Industry Group Incorporated.
The Gold Industry Group owns and operates the website located at jobs.goldindustrygroup.com.au (“the Site”) across desktop, mobile, tablet and apps and including any subdomains. Gold Jobs’ Privacy Statement has been created because the Gold Industry Group values its users and recognise their right to keep their Personal Information private.
Definitions
Where used in this Privacy Statement, the terms:
- “Gold Jobs”, “we”, “us” and “our” includes a reference to the Gold Industry Group Incorporated and its members.
- “Employer/s” and “Company/ies” refers to members that post job ads on our Site to source potential applicants for job vacancies.
- “Job Seeker/s” and “Candidate/s” refers to users who register on the Site with the intention of applying for job vacancies.
Collecting information on Gold Jobs visitors
Gold Jobs collects Personal Information from Site visitors for the purposes of providing services to users, and (as described below) for the purposes of better customising those services. Any Personal Information collected will be used by the Gold Industry Group in accordance with and as described in this Privacy Statement.
Gold Jobs collects non-Personal Information on Site visits by users, including which sections of the Site are most frequently visited, how often, and for how long. This data is always used as aggregated, non-Personal Information, and may be shared with Gold Industry Group members to provide them with information relating to how Gold Jobs visitors ‘use’ the Site. This is done for the purpose of providing users with the best and most efficient career management and recruitment services.
Collecting information on registered Users
As part of registering an account on Gold Jobs, we collect Personal Information about those registered users in order for them to take full advantage of Gold Jobs’ services. To do this it will be necessary for registered users to provide additional information to the Gold Industry Group.
Becoming a registered user allows you to take advantage of more of the Site’s services and resources that may assist you in finding a job. To become a registered user, you will need to create a Job Seeker account by submitting some Personal Information such as your name (for the purpose of a username) and email address. You may access your information at any time by logging in to your Job Seeker account and updating the Job Alerts you have previously saved on the Site. Gold Jobs may also use this information in order to customise the service we provide to you.
If you want to opt-out from the collection and usage of information for targeting, you can do so by contacting the Gold Industry Group directly.
Other information Gold Jobs may collect
Gold Jobs may also collect and use information about your job seeking needs, characteristics and priorities by collecting and analysing data about how you use, or interact with, the products and services offered on the Site (including, by way of example, usage patterns around how regularly you update your profile or how often you submit job applications).
The Gold Industry Group may use this information, including through automated processes applying algorithms, for the purposes set out in this Privacy Statement, to better tailor Gold Jobs’ offerings to your job seeking needs and to provide more targeted services to Employers and Candidates.
Third Party Measurement
In order to better understand Gold Jobs users, the Gold Industry Group utilises third party measurement companies to assess Site and mobile Site traffic. This includes collecting the following information on usage of the Site:
- The number of page views (or page impressions) that occur on the Site;
- The number of unique visitors to the Site;
- How long these unique visitors (on average) spend on the Site when they do visit; and
- Common entry and exit points into the Site.
This aggregated, non-Personal Information is collated and provided to the Gold Industry Group in order to assist in analysing the usage of the Site. This data is also accessible by member companies, for the purpose of conducting industry comparisons with other Internet websites.
Storing resumes
Site users applying for jobs are required to upload their resume to the application form prior to submission or to the Employer’s external web page of choice when directed. Users may also attach an additional document such as a cover letter.
All resumes and cover letters attached to the Gold Jobs’ application form are not stored by the Site or the Gold Industry Group and are provided directly to the Employer who posted the job ad.
Communications to and from Gold Jobs
Gold Jobs may also provide you with selected information about job placement and career-related topics in email communications including in the Gold Industry Group’s email newsletter ‘Gold Job News’ and ‘Job Alerts’.
Registered users may opt-out of receiving Job Alerts from Gold Jobs by logging into their Job Seeker account and deleting the alerts from within their dashboard.
Subscribed users may opt-out of receiving emails from the Gold Industry Group either by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ in the footer of an email received or contacting the Gold Industry Group directly.
The Gold Industry Group takes all reasonable steps to ensure the security of our system and to protect your information from misuse, interference and loss, as well as unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. In addition, our employees and the contractors who provide services related to our information systems are obliged to respect the confidentiality and privacy of any Personal Information held by Gold Jobs.
Unless you become a registered user by creating a Job Seeker account, subscribe to receive Gold Job News and/or submit a job application online, or become an Employer, Gold Jobs does not collect information that identifies you personally.
Candidates who have applied for any position on the Site should be aware that the Employer to whom their application is sent may also be holding their Personal Information and should you wish to access that information this should be requested directly from those Employers.
Feedback and Complaints
The Gold Industry Group welcomes ideas and feedback about all aspects of the Site. Gold Jobs stores feedback that users send to us. This feedback may be used to administer and refine the service we provide and may be shared with Gold Jobs partners either in aggregate form or with specific identifying characteristics removed.

Any complaints received by us will be referred to our internal team for prompt investigation and a written response will be provided to you as soon as possible.
