Operations

Tropicana 

One of Australia’s top five gold mines, Tropicana features both open pit mining and underground mining. The site is located 330km east north-east of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in WA, with flights out of Kalgoorlie and Perth.

Sunrise Dam

Sunrise Dam is a large-scale underground gold mine based on a world class orebody, which remains open along strike and at depth. It is located 55km south of Laverton in WA, with flights out of Perth.

Get Into Mining

The Get Into Mining Program at Tropicana is a paid eight-week course for Aboriginal people based in the Goldfields region of WA. A joint initiative of AngloGold Ashanti Australia, Macmahon Holdings and Carey Mining, Get Into Mining involves the delivery of training in community and on site by qualified and experienced mining personnel. Graduates from the Program move into traineeships at the site. Information sessions on the entry level Program are held well in advance of recruitment and are advertised in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and on local radio.
